1. What we provide

Our service is documentary-style video production: personal and family history films, retirement tributes, anniversary and vow-renewal keepsake films, and small-business origin stories. Each project includes story interviews, filming days, professional editing, licensed music, and delivery on USB, Blu-ray, and a private streaming link. We plan every film around an interview - your voice, in your words.

Details and current pricing for each package are shown on our Plans page and confirmed in your written estimate.

2. Booking and agreement

Bookings are made through this site's inquiry form, by phone ((312) 555-0176), or by email ([email protected]). A booking is confirmed when we send a written confirmation and, where applicable, receive the deposit. Dates are held for 72 hours pending your confirmation. We may propose alternative dates during peak seasons.

3. Fees and payment

All prices are in U.S. dollars. Payment is accepted by card, ACH transfer, or check; deposits and schedules are stated in your estimate. Applicable sales tax is added where required by state law. There are no automatic renewals unless a monthly plan explicitly says so, and any recurring plan can be stopped at any time as described in Section 4.

4. Cancellations and changes

For projects canceled before the story interview, all payments minus a $150 planning fee are refunded. After the interview but before editing begins, 30% of the project price is retained; after editing begins, fees are prorated to work completed. Postponements are always free; we hold deposits for up to 18 months.

5. Copyright, releases, and likeness

The final film is copyrighted by our company. Clients receive a broad personal-use license: viewing at home, copying for family, screening at celebrations, and posting to personal social media. Music is licensed for personal commemorative use, and commercial public screenings require a separate license we can obtain. Portfolio or festival use of your film requires your separate written permission, which we request in advance; declining has no effect on your pricing. Interview recordings remain the property of the interviewee's family, and we surrender our copies 12 months after delivery unless you ask us to archive them.

Text and images on this site may not be copied without credit and a link. Reasonable quotation with attribution is welcome.

6. Delivery schedule

A first-cut edit is shared for review within 21 days of the final filming day. After one included revision round, the finished film is delivered within 45 days on USB, Blu-ray, and a private streaming link with download access for the family.

7. Liability

We carry general liability insurance (CNA GL policy IL-55431). To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected service, and we are not liable for indirect damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Participation in sessions and tours is at your own pace; please tell us about conditions that affect safe participation.

8. Force majeure

If storms, wildfires, power or network outages, public orders, or illness make service unsafe or impossible, we will reschedule or refund as described in Section 4 without cancellation fees.

9. Your information

How we collect, use, store, and share personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, including rights available to residents of California and other states.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the current version is always posted on this page with its effective date. Material changes affecting existing bookings will be sent to affected clients directly.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will first be addressed by a good-faith conversation - call us - and unresolved disputes will be brought in the courts of Cook County, Illinois, or as otherwise required by law. Where state law provides small-claims procedures, you may always use them.
